Parents who do not live together sometimes find it difficult to agree where and with whom the children should live, how often and in what way they should see the parent they do not live with, or matters relating to schooling, travelling abroad or medical treatment. This is by no means an exclusive list. We are knowledgeable, respectful and experienced in dealing with all kinds of parenting disputes.
We understand the effect on the children of family disagreements, and the importance of minimising any negative impact for their long-term well-being. We work with you to put your children’s needs first.
You should try to resolve your dispute with the other parent through negotiations however we understand that sometimes that just doesn’t work. The Courts will insist on you trying to attend a Family Dispute Resolution Conference before being able to take the matter before a Court. There are some exceptions which are set out in Section 60I of the Family Law Act.
